For Immediate Release
Raleigh, NC (July 1, 2013) — For the second time, Brooks Bell Inc. is partnering with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina to host their annual 24-Hour Telethon. Brooks Bell will be a Patron Partner for 2013’s 24-Hour Telethon, a live-streamed event packed with fun activities and enlightening interviews.
The event will start at 12 p.m. on September 13, 2013 and will be hosted at the Food Bank’s warehouse located at 3808 Tarheel Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609.
After a wildly successful event in 2012, Gregory Ng will again host the 24-Hour Telethon. Ng is also the CMO and Chief Strategy Officer at Brooks Bell. He will interview partners and advocates against hunger, including company founder and CEO, Brooks Bell, between 1:20-1:35 p.m. on September 13.
There are more than 560,000 people who are at risk for hunger in the areas serviced by the Food Bank of Eastern & Central North Carolina, 34 percent of which are children. There are more than 264,000 people at risk in the Raleigh Branch service area alone.
The 24-Hour Telethon aims to raise $50,000 for Hunger Action Month. Events include a Food Truck Rodeo, the Social Media Mixer, and a “Midnight Madness” volunteer activity. This event was created for contributors to give gifts in the form of a food or monetary donation. For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can provide 5 meals, or $10 worth of food.
“After such a successful event last year, we’re happy to be working with the Food Bank again,” said Gregory Ng. “Participating in this event is part of our ongoing initiative at Brooks Bell to give back to the local community we love so much.”
Brooks Bell became involved with the Food Bank in 2012 after sponsoring the event and donating more than 585 pounds of food. Through this contribution, Brooks Bell’s 25 employees were able to provide 501 meals. Last year, the Telethon raised $20,000 to be used for Food Bank initiatives.
“The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is grateful to have the partnership of an innovative and respected company such as Brooks Bell for one of our most unique events, the 24-Hour Telethon,” said Ashley Delamar, Vice President of Development for the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. “We are honored that they support our mission, ‘No One Goes Hungry’ and give back to more than 560,000 neighbors in need.”
