We are thrilled to reveal New York Times bestselling author, world-renowned interviewer, and storytelling consultant, Cal Fussman will keynote at Brooks Bell’s 9th annual Click Summit for world-class experimentation program leaders, taking place May 7-9, 2018 at the Umstead Hotel in Cary, NC.
In this lively keynote presentation, Fussman will explain how changing the way you ask questions can change your life. He will expose his “Heart, Head, and Soul interview technique” by telling mesmerizing stories of his own experiences spending a week with Muhammad Ali, connecting with Mikhail Gorbachev, and travelling around the world for 10 years without a home —during which time he swam over 18-foot tiger sharks, rolled around with mountain gorillas in Rwanda, and searched for gold in the Amazon.
Fussman will also guide the audience through an interactive exercise, share his worldly wisdom about how to build and deepen relationships, and wrap up with a Q&A session.
Participants will develop a better understanding about ways to begin conversations, learn techniques about how to make richer personal connections, and gain insights into the true power of storytelling.
Transforming Oral History into an Art Form
Cal Fussman is referred to as “one of the greatest interviewers of this generation” by Art19. He has not only interviewed influential icons Serena Williams, Jeff Bezos, Jack Welch, John Wooden, Al Pacino and hundreds of others, but is a writer-at-large for Esquire Magazine, and has contributed to such publications as GQ, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and The Washington Post Sunday Magazine.
Fussman also inspires organizations to take a new look at themselves through storytelling. He has delivered keynotes to such companies as General Motors, Pixar, Facebook, Twitter, Apple Music, Snapchat, Samsung, Facebook, Turner Broadcasting, Vans, and Lululemon; such colleges as UCLA and Georgetown University; and to conferences as far away as South Africa.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Fussman has boxed against then-undefeated world champion Julio Cesar Chavez, won a James Beard Award for his personal essay, “Drinking at 1,300 Ft: A 9/11 Story About Wine and Wisdom,” and served as a sommelier on top of the World Trade Center.
He lives with his wife and three children in Los Angeles, CA, where he spends every morning eating breakfast with American television and radio host, Larry King.
