What conversion is: a webpage view that converts into a desired action, or goal.
What conversion is not: a religious experience (at least in web marketing terms).
Why we care about conversion: Conversion is the Holy Grail (despite what I said about this not being a religious experience, above)! More conversions mean more sales, sign-ups, subscriptions, or more of whatever your goal happens to be.
