Star of the Week’ Spotlight: Barbara Maloney

Share

Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”

The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.

The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection during impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.

Our first featured Star of the Week is client coordinator, Barbara Maloney, one of our newest team members. She’s been doing an awesome job coordinating meeting times and schedules to ensure our clients remain happy.

“As a new team member Barbara has jumped in and started kicking butt already – and specifically over the past week she helped me & the rest of the tech team manage our huge project workload.”  -Brian Shampnois, Analytics Manager and last week’s Star of the Week.

Which of Brooks Bell’s core values resonates with you most and why?

“Create Happiness.”  The two main aspects of this core value that I really like are “Show positivity and passion” and “Expect career and life satisfaction.” I believe that everyone needs to enjoy the career path they choose in order to enjoy their life. We spend a majority of our lives at work and if we don’t enjoy what we are doing we won’t truly enjoy our lives.

Do you have a favorite quote or motto?

One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt – “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

What led you to have a passion for working with clients and coordinating projects?

Growing up, I was always the outgoing, independent one. I am a natural planner and love being in control of things. My passion for lists, planning and controlling things probably played a huge factor in my career choice. Likewise, throughout college I did numberous internships and I believe that learning what I didn’t want to do had a big impact on where I am today.

What motivates you?

I am motivated by my desire to do my best and not let others or myself down. I also enjoy challenges that give me the opportunity to grow and change my perspective, to learn new things and reach for goals.

Congratulations to Barbara on becoming Star of the Week!
