Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is client coordinator, Barbara Riccardi. As a two-time recipient of the Star of the Week award, Barbara has continued to do excellent work with our clients. Congratulations Barbara!
Where are you from and how did you end up in Raleigh at Brooks Bell?
I am originally from New Jersey, and my family moved to North Carolina when I was 8, making NC home for me. I chose to stay in Raleigh and attended Meredith College. I first heard about Brooks Bell from a good friend/roommate of mine who knew this was where she wanted to work since sophomore year. She had been working here as an intern while we lived together, and all I ever heard was praise and good things about Brooks Bell. About a year after graduating, I noticed Brooks Bell was hiring, and decided to apply. The rest is history!
Are you reading anything interesting right now?
I am currently reading, Lean In, by Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook. She gives a great perspective on how to balance “it all” and debunks the idea that women can or should “have it all.” So far it has been a great read, and I highly recommend it!
What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies?
Generally I can be found baking or cooking, my guilty pleasure is trying new Pinterest recipes! On the weekends, I tend to spend downtime with my husband and our dog Jack at the dog park when the weather is nice.
—The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized. The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
Sound like fun? Check to see if we’re hiring.
