Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is technical project manager, Bryan Prehodka. Bryan and the project management team have been working recently to improve our internal process and make our projects more efficient. Congratulations Bryan!
Where are you from and how did you end up in Raleigh at Brooks Bell?
I was born in rural northwestern New Jersey, and moved to California after college. I spent 13 years in San Francisco where I met my wife and had my two kids. During this time my parents and my sister and her family moved to Chapel Hill. Our family would visit on holidays and vacations and found that we liked it very much. Wanting to be closer to family, we moved from San Francisco to Chapel Hill this past February. I was looking for work at a small, dynamic, fast moving company where I could make an impact. I’m honored to have found a place at Brooks Bell, and haven’t turned back since.
Which of Brooks Bell’s core values resonates with you most and why?
Empower Each Other – We’ll only reach our goals though collaboration and trust. We need to continually share what we’ve learned with one another to augment existing skills/knowledge to allow us to innovate as well as avoid repeating mistakes.
What led you to have a passion for project management?
I love being involved in all aspects of the work we do and the project management role puts you front and center. It affords you the opportunity to positively impact many areas of a company, which I very much enjoy.

What do you do outside of work? Any hobbies?
Spending as much time as possible with my 1-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl and going out to dinner with my wife. Outside of that I like to ski, mountain bike and rock climb.
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
