Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is client manager, Claire Schmitt. Claire is a great team player and lives our core values every day. She helps to organize both an A/B Beer Testing series and our Brooks Bell Book Club. She was named Star of the Week just a few weeks ago, and has already made the list again. Congratulations Claire!
What’s the best part about being a Client Manager?
I think the best part of being a Client Manager is talking to clients on a daily basis and helping them build their testing programs. I get to be involved in the entire testing process from strategy ideation all the way through to delivering results. And with that, I am privileged to get to work closely with pretty much every member of the Brooks Bell team regularly.
Are you reading anything interesting right now?
I just started reading a book recommended to me by my dad – Animal Spirits: How Human Psychology Drives the Economy, and Why It Matters for Global Capitalism by Robert J. Shiller and George Akerlof. It focuses on how emotions and instinct influence behaviors that drive economic decision making. Also, Shiller just received the Nobel Prize in Economics last week.
What do you like to do outside of work? Any hobbies?
You can usually find me cooking (I love trying out new recipes and perfecting old ones) and my husband and I do a fair amount of hiking with our dog, Islay. I also help run a women’s beer appreciation group called NC Girls’ Pint Out. My latest project is attempting to refinish furniture…it’s getting pretty messy, but I’ll let you know how it goes.
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
Sound like fun? Check to see if we’re hiring.
