Star of the Week’ Spotlight: Lou Pascucci

Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”

This week, our Star is interactive designer, Lou Pascucci who kept a positive attitude during a busy week for the design team. Lou also gave a great company-wide presentation about UX design and personas.

“Lou always keeps a positive outlook, never gets discouraged and is always willing to help out. He stepped up this week to handle some extra design work to keep projects on track while our director of UX, Matt, was out of the office. Lou also gave a great company-wide presentation on UX last week, and was able to get all of that done on top of his regular workload.”

Where are you from and how did you end up in Raleigh at Brooks Bell?

I am originally from New Jersey, but I’ve been living in NC the majority of my life. I went to NC State and was living downtown (a block from where our office is now located), doing freelance work and running blog when a friend told me Brooks Bell was moving a few doors down form my apartment and they had a design position open. Fate? Probably.

If you had the Brooks Bell team over for dinner, what would you make for all of us?

Homemade pizza, pasta and meatballs.

Which of Brooks Bell’s core values resonates with you most and why?

Probably ‘Be Real.’ I think this place has the most amazing culture and it’s because everyone is so open and authentic. I know the hiring process is pretty extensive and it’s obviously for good reason. Everyone here is unique, but ultimately, they’re all real and it’s something that makes coming to work everyday fun.

What would you test? (Other than client testing, of course)

Is it the shoes or are my basketball skills just deteriorating with age?

The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.

The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
