Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is VP of strategic partnerships, Meredith Albertson! Though Click Summit ended a week ago, Meredith’s hard work and relationship building are what makes events like Click Summit a success. Congratulations Meredith!
Where are you from, and how did you end up in Raleigh at Brooks Bell?
I am actually a native of the Triangle area, born and raised here. Several years ago, I became Twitter friends with our CMO, Gregory Ng. We ended up meeting in person at a local technology event and stayed in touch. When the opportunity became available to work at Brooks Bell I immediately jumped on it. I started with the team as Director of Client Strategy but have transitioned to marketing and strategic partnerships over the past several years. I throughly enjoy working with our industry partners on a daily basis. Optimization and experimentation is a thrilling industry.
What do you do outside of work? Any hobbies?
My husband and I love to scuba dive and hang out with our dogs- two pit bulls and two bluetick coonhounds. I also really enjoy staying active and exercising. My favorite activities are running and Flywheel classes. I am actually very data-driven, even with my exercise. I track my activity pretty religiously with my Fitbit, Nike watch and my Flywheel app. The data is crucial to make sure I am staying on track with my training and improving like I should be.
What are you reading?
I am actually engulfed in three books right now. The first is The Girl on a Train which was recommend to me by one of our clients. I am also re-reading Professor Peter Fader’s Customer Centricity. He was our keynote at Click Summit 2015 last week and I love his book. The final one is Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn which I actually listen to on my long training runs using Audiobooks.
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
