Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is optimization analyst, Taylor Wilson. Last week, Taylor was very helpful and was able to help Claire Schmitt out with some client work. Congratulations Taylor!
Where are you from and how did you end up in Raleigh at Brooks Bell?
I grew up on the North Carolina Coast, in Morehead City, and moved to Raleigh to obtain my engineering degree from NC State. When I graduated I knew I wanted to stay in Raleigh. I loved the city, and could not see myself anywhere else. Sometime thereafter, I saw Brooks Bell was hiring, the work seemed super exciting and perfect. So, here I am, elated with the decision.
If you had the Brooks Bell team over for dinner, what would you make for all of us?
BBQ. Just not Eastern NC style….
Which of Brooks Bell’s core values resonates with you most and why?
Pursue Knowledge. Continuing education and sharpening your skillset is something I always try to work on. Having all the experts here at Brooks Bell makes this even easier, and diverse.
What’s the best part about being an analyst?
Playing with numbers and charts all day long. Analytics is like solving a puzzle, an ever-evolving puzzle. Putting these pieces together in an impactful way, that can then be used to tell a user’s story is both challenging and fulfilling.
What would you test? (Other than client testing, of course)
Beer. I brew beer as a hobby. I constantly keep track of every ingredient and every step change in the process. Hopefully, I can use this data to create the perfect batch! I suppose that’s multivariate. I know….such an analyst.
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
Sound like fun? Check to see if we’re hiring.
