Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week, our Star is senior optimization analyst Brian Shampnois. As one of our resident Adobe Target experts, Brian’s technical abilities are what earned him the award this week. Our team has been working on an internal project, and with Brian’s help, we were able to take things to the next level. Congratulations Brian!
What would you test?
I say test everything! The best coffee brand. The fastest routes to and from work. The most satisfying beer. The best lunch spots. Optimization is not just for the web, it’s a way of life!
What advice would you give to aspiring analysts or those new to the field?
Never stop growing your skillset. Learn different database systems, statistical tools, etc. Learn basic coding. Become a confident speaker. When you feel the need to know more about something, dive in and see what you can learn through data. Always think about the big picture. Stay curious.
Have you faced a challenge in the past week?
Getting two sets of data from different systems to agree. It’s an art form.
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
