Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.” This week, our Star is optimization analyst Dave Rose!
This week, the newest member of the analyst team got recognized for his willingness to help out, excellent teamwork, and eagerness to jump into new projects. Congratulations Dave!
Are you reading anything interesting right now?
I feel like all the reading I’m doing right now is for work, but it’s so great to be reading and learning about the tools we use every day! I have spent most of my reading time on a couple books about the statistical language R that are getting me up to speed with our amazing team. I’m concentrating on learning the basics, but also working on our data visualizations.
Do you have any advice for aspiring analysts or those new to the field?
Just keep working toward the goal. It took me more than a decade to make this career change happen! I’m just very proud to work with such supportive colleagues and learn from them every day.
If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would love to snorkel in the Maldives before they disappear! I will never turn down a trip to the Central Coast of California, and that seems much more realistic in the short term!
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
Sound like fun? Check to see if we’re hiring.
