Each week at Brooks Bell, we have a short meeting Friday morning with the entire team. During the meeting we get updates on tests and the company, and award a “Star of the Week.”
This week our Star is production designer Jayne Worth. As our in-house designer, Jayne works both on the client side and the marketing side of things—and does an awesome job at it! Her fresh ideas and always-postitive attitude make her a joy to work with. Congratulations Jayne!
Are you reading anything interesting right now?
I typically am always reading a few different books at once—I like to switch things up and tend to get a little distracted! I always have a few Typography/Design/Art books in the queue—they keep me inspired! I just finished Fried Green Tomatoes, and am now re-reading One Flew Over the Cukoo’s Nest. I have also been trying to finish The Plague by Albert Camus for about 4 years, but I just can’t get into it!
Which of Brooks Bell’s core values resonates with you the most and why?
Pursue Knowledge is the Brooks Bell core value that most resonates with me. I love learning new things. To be a good designer, I feel that it is very important to keep up with current design trends and technological advancements. I also feel that it is important to learn from the past. Constantly learning not only keeps my crazy mind entertained, but it enables me to connect with different people on multiple levels, which I love!
What led you to have a passion for design?
I always knew I wanted to pursue a career that I would be extremely passionate about. My interests in art, communication, psychology, and understanding others have been a huge part of my life ever since I was young. Design work is such a great way for me to combine those skills and passions to solve problems, and help others. Not to mention I LOVE typography—letters have always fascinated me. I just want to make the world a more beautiful and easier to understand place!
The Brooks Bell Star of the Week is a team member who has gone above and beyond typical expectations during the week. The award is designed to empower our team and ensure everyone’s hard work is appreciated and recognized.
The winner receives a large trophy they get to keep for the entire week, fully equipped with extra Nerf darts (extra protection for those impromptu Nerf wars). They also get the honor of selecting the following week’s winner.
